Jumping Ship...

You can probably tell by my sporadic posting as of late that my interest in the 31 day nail challenge has been wavering... Well, you are correct... I have decided to jump ship...
I have the attention span of a three year old. I'm so proud of myself for me being able to stick with it for as long as I did but alas... I'm done with that challenge...

Stay classy.

Peace... And much lacquer to you.

My First Franken

Well, the first one in a bottle. I'm always mixing colors on foil to get an exact color for nail art but I never make enough to keep. This is the first one I've ever made in a bottle and I must say... I love it!

I call it Diamond Heist. This is 3 coats on my sisters nails...

I think it will be fantastic over a color polish...

Glittery polishes always look better when blurry.

I may add a little more glitter but all in all, I love the way it turned out. What do you think?

Stay classy.

Peace... And much lacquer to you.

Free at last, free at last... Thank God Almighty... I am free at last!

I mentioned a few days ago that I recently got my very first etsy order and it was a big one. I had to custom design 12 items in total. It was exciting for my first order to be such a big order but it was a lot of hard work. Well... I'm finished! After a week of painting my life away, I shipped my order off to the buyer in Ridgeland, Mississippi today. This is what she ordered...

Alpha Kappa Alpha: 4 frames and 1 mirror

Delta Sigma Theta: 4 frames and 1 mirror

Zeta Phi Beta: 2 frames

These are three of the four sororities in the Divine Nine collective of predominately black Greek-letter organizations. I am a member of the 4th and final sorority, Sigma Gamma Rho... She didnt order anything for my organization but I've done things for it in the past. Here is one of them...

I make a lot of sorority stuff but I can draw really well so I am not limited to just sorority gifts. Check out my etsy page. If you are a follower of this blog, I will give you a code for free shipping on your order!

Anyway, I hope she enjoys her order. Like I said before, it was hard work but I definitely enjoyed making them...

Now that I'm done with the order, I will get back to my daily posting on this blog.

Stay classy.

Peace... And much lacquer to you.

Flo-Jo Friday... *Throwback*

It's the second edition of Flo-Jo Friday but I've been doing a lot of painting this whole month for the 31 Day Nail Art challenge so I did not feel like painting anything new in addition to the day 28 challenge.

Flo-Jo in her UCLA days

So here is a throwback pic of a design I did on one of my sister's nails a few months back. I think it's a very Flo-Jo-esque design:

I think Flo-Jo would like it.

Stay classy.

Peace... And much lacquer to you.

Day 27: Inspired by Art *Throwback*

Nails Inspired by the art of Keith Haring.

Left hand

A few months back I put this on my nails at the suggestion of an old friend of mine on Facebook...
Right hand

I think I did a good job, especially with my left hand (since I'm right handed and all)...

Stay classy.

Peace... And much lacquer to you.

Day 25: Inspired by Fashion *Throwback*

While I consider myself to be pretty fresh and fashionable, I wouldn't call myself a fashionista. I don't keep up with the latest trends. I just don't care... I do my own thing... And unless we're talking about Chiavari chairs or Balenciaga bags, labels mean nothing to me...

However, there is one label (other than the two previously mentioned) that if I could a) walk in heels and; b) afford it with my measly state worker wages, I would jump all over it.

That's right. Louboutin.

It's just something about those red bottoms that pull me in.

I did this a few months ago on my nails. It ended up looking really awesome. The only down side was trying to get the red out from under my nails when I was ready to change the polish.

RHOyal Fiasco: Part-time blogger. Full-time b*tch.

If it wasn't for the fact that I'm hella clumsy and cannot even begin to walk in heels and that they're hella expensive, I would snatch these bad boys up in a heart beat (the towel and the shoes).

These are definitely more my speed.

Thank God for Louboutin flats and sneakers...

Stay classy.

Peace... And much lacquer to you.

Day 24: Inspired by a book

I must admit, this week I'm not as focused on my nails as I should be. I got my very first order on my etsy page and it's a huge one. In total, they ordered 12 custom items. So I've been painting like crazy but for the first time in a long time, it hasn't been my nails...

Four of the 12 items I'm working on for my etsy order.

When I'm crafting, I don't paint my nails because I get paint all over my hands and it would ruin whatever design I might have on my nails at the time.
My hands are a mess

I did, however, manage to take out a moment to paint one nail for the sake of this challenge:

It was inspired by Dante's Inferno. I really like how it rhymes. It's a great book.

This is what I used:

 China Glaze-Orange Knockout
China Glaze-Rose Among Thorns
Claire's-Yellow Brick Road

Don't mind the paint all over the orange polish. One of my white polishes broke and spilled all over a bunch of my other polishes, including that one.

Ok,, back to painting. I'll show you a picture of everything once I'm done.

Stay classy.

Peace... And much lacquer to you.
